Trusting the God Who Directs Every Seed. He is the true Planter—the One who establishes.
Those who truly lean on Him, as the Scripture says, “will be like a tree planted by the water.” That is the experience of anyone who rests in the care and wisdom of the Planter. He knows the right soil composition for every seed entrusted to His hands.
Even the seeds that seem to be dispersed by natural phenomena are not outside His design. What may appear to human eyes as mere chance is, in truth, carefully directed by the hand of God Himself.
The seeds that drift on the wind (anemochory) or hitch a ride with animals (zoochory) are not beyond His knowledge or plan. Along with those cultivated and sown by human hands, they all work together in harmony to fulfill the purpose of the Planter.
Though they seem to move by chance, their journey, their landing, and their growth are all fully known and guided by Him. Just as God directs the hands of the gardener who plants with intention, He also oversees the unseen paths of every seed carried by wind, beast, or man. Nothing is random; all creation unfolds under His sovereign care.
The wind has its set course, fulfilling the will of the Planter, who regulates even its speed and rhythm so that each seed drifts according to His intent. Likewise, the animals’ movements are guided—none of the seeds destined for planting end up as their delight. No seed prepared for a particular soil will be lost because of its carrier.
In this way, the wind, the animals, and humankind serve together as the divine supply chain of the seeds. The Planter has already gone ahead, from eternity past, to prepare the soil for each one.
No seed meant for the clay will land in the water. Each one will reach its destined place. The Planter deliberately and tenderly ensures the safe landing of every seed He has designed to grow.
The Lord is unfolding the future, and every turn along the journey deserves the best of your ability. The detours do not merely slow you down, despite your quest for speed.
The rises and falls, the tiredness and discouragement, the failures and disappointments, the loneliness and pains, the successes and lessons—all are the weights and stretches you must bear to emerge with the strength and humility needed to fulfill your calling when that future arrives.
You are a seed in the hand of the Planter. He has gone ahead to prepare the soil with the perfect nutrients and conditions.
So fret not, O seed, for the Planter cares for you. No seed has ever perished in His careful hand. He does not only plant; He waters, nourishes, and prunes when necessary.
I found this phrase in The Promise Bible, Hosea 2:23:
And the whole grand chorus will sing together, ‘Jezreel’—‘God plants.
“And the whole grand chorus will sing together, ‘Jezreel’—‘God plants.’”
What a fitting reminder that every act of planting, growth, and flourishing begins and ends with Him.
