All Is Well If Thou Art Near

All is well if Thou art near.
Cares of life and fears reside,
Life is full and strength is frail—
All is well if Thou art near.
Far is hope, and weak is faith,
Things unknown all day beset.
Past remains and now is clouded—
All is well if Thou art near.
Night is long and day is short,
Sleep is naught and dreams are cut.
Foes arise to strike and fight—
All is well if Thou art near.
You alone can ease the pain,
Soft and gentle, Thy touch and words.
Help of man will fail and fade—
All is well if Thou art near.
Love divine, to You I seek.
Love of man is weak and strays.
Love within to You belongs—
All is well if Thou art near.
None is strong unless You help,
Lord, Your way is sure and firm.
Guide my feeble, breaking thoughts—
All is well if Thou art near.
You—Your own You won’t despise,
You—Your sheep You won’t neglect,
You—Your love You won’t disguise—
All is well if Thou art near.
Sure is all You said to do.
Worlds may pass, but not Your words.
Seas may roar, yet You will still—
All is well if Thou art near.
Christ is all and all to me.
When my mother cannot stand,
You will be my All in All—
All is well if Thou art near.
Day by day, will You supply
All my needs that steal my joy.
Rest You give in wilderness—
All is well if Thou art near.
Power belongs to You alone.
Praise to You alone I bring.
Now I know with all my heart—
All is well because You are here.
